Joe & Dani: Sylvan Lake Engagement Photographer

I’m thrilled to share Joe & Dani’s engagement photos today! This good-looking pair chose a snowy, slick, post-blizzard fall day here in the hills, but it couldn’t have been more perfect. I can’t wait to photograph their Terry Peak wedding next year!

Joe and Dani, thank you for making the drive to Custer State Park, and for looking cute even though it was nearly freezing and our hike was slightly treacherous. I hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as I did. Here’s a few of my favorites! —js

Dani, what is your favorite thing about Joe?
One of my favorite things about Joe is his outgoing personality and the fact that he can talk to anyone at anytime. He’s incredibly friendly and overly talkative, which is a nice balance to my introverted, quiet personality. Of course, when I told him I loved these things about him, he told me I made him sound like labrador (I used to compare him to Chihuahua’s because of their copper-colored hair and feisty personality, but labradors fit pretty well too! And I love dogs, so I didn’t complain!). Other qualities Joe has that are similar to labradors, that I also love: he’s caring, patient, and is very loyal.  He’s just a pretty great guy. :)

You knew you’d marry him when…
I think I knew I wanted to marry Joe when he bought me a pair of boots…he figured out the path to my heart! I do love boots, but I think I really knew I wanted to marry him when he told me he would follow me anywhere I wanted to go for law school. That’s a big step for someone who’s never left Wyoming and can’t go a day without making a redneck joke. But, I think it takes a pretty great guy to do something like that!

Joe, what is your favorite thing about Dani?
My favorite thing about Dani is how caring she is.  Dani is caring in all aspects of her life, whether it comes to our dog, family, me (occasionally), or homeless person at Wal-Mart.  She is just always worried about how everyone is doing and I think that is a hard quality to find these days.

You knew you’d marry her when…
That is a very loaded question.  I know that I am supposed to say something along the lines of “the first time I laid eyes on her” or “when she stole my heart on our first date”, but that just isn’t my style.  To be honest, I cant really pin point when I knew I would marry her. I’m sure it is somewhere in the realm of when I realized she wasn’t leaving and was in it for the long haul.
